Statement by the Russian Federation to Georgia
The Russian Federation strongly warns against any intrusion into Abkhaz territory by Georgian Forces. We are publicly issuing a stern ultimatum to the Georgian Government that any incursion upon Abkhaz territory will be strongly repelled by Russian forces.
The staging of weapons on the cargo ship headed to Abkhazia seized at 0720 by the Georgian Coast Guard and the military provocation in Abkhazia constitute a threat to regional stability. The territorial integrity and the sovereignty of Abkhazia and South Ossetia must be respected and preserved.
